The Story You Tell
The type of story you tell in each game of Farrago Tavern is dependent on which genre decks you decide to use. A genre deck is a set of thirty-six cards that relates to a specific genre of storytelling, such as High Fantasy, Old Western, or Super Hero. These decks can be played by themselves or shuffled together with other decks to create a genre mash-up. Each box of Farrago Tavern will come with two genre decks, but all of the decks can be played with each other.
Embark for adventure with pirates and dragons with our Dungeons and Krakens box set. This box contains two genre decks with the themes High Fantasy and Pirates. Here there be dragons.
High Fantasy
Magic, knights, dragons, and bards. They are all here, and they are waiting to help you tell your greatest tale. With our High Fantasy deck, you will encounter The Hidden Elvin Ruins and magical items like The Philosophers Stone. Will you defeat The Dark Lord or unleash a powerful magic at The Wizard's Tower? The possibilities are limitless and so are your stories!
Pirates
You are a swash-buckling, sword-fighting, sea-shanty singing pirate, and it is time for you to tell your story of high-sea adventure! You'll cross swords with The Savvy Pirate Captain or perhaps you'll woo the daughter of The Wealthy Governor. So what are you waiting for? Helm your pirate ship and grab your pistol. You have The Port Town to sack and The Gigantic Sea Monster to battle. No fish tale is too tall with this pirate-fueled deck.
Its time to blast off for some space western fun with our Space Cowboys box set. The box contains two genre decks with the themes Space Opera and Western. See you around, Space Cowboy.
Space Opera
Your stories are too grand to be held down by gravity, not when you have the rest of the galaxy to explore! In our Space Opera genre deck, space itself will call to you for adventure. You'll stop an asteroid from destroying The Earth and protect The Alien Ambassador from assassination. Grab your Gizmos and Gadgets and sign up with the Space Marines. It's time to set course for the stars.
Western
It's a lawless world full of bandits and outlaws, and it's up to you decide whether to join them or bring them to justice in our Western genre deck. Will you team up with The Bounty Hunter to track down wanted criminals, or will you rescue a deputy tied to tracks of The Railroad Company. Arm yourself with some Revolvers and Shot and be wary of those Slick-Dressed Gamblers. It's time to mount up and ride out.
The streets outside are cold and filled with crime, and with our Hard-Boiled Heroes box set you can toe the line between hero and villain. This box contains two genre decks with the themes Crime Noir and Superhero. With great power comes great culpability.
Hard-Boiled Heroes is currently under active development, and is currently planned to be the 5th and 6th deck we make for Farrago Tavern. Hard-Boiled Heroes will be a combination of Superhero and Crime Noir, but unfortunately that is all we can say right now. Check back soon for future updates.
